question about piece of tile i got.

okay so my freind gave me a piece of tile he had left over, i asked him if he knew it was slate or ceramic he said he thinks its a mix of both. it has a light maroon/brown coat with what seems to be some coat of sparkle here and there aswell. is this dangerous for my gecko?, i plan on just running it through very hot water to 'sanitize' it.

Slate is stone and cermic is pottery, so I doubt it's a mix. A picture would help. I"m assuming from your description that it's ceramic and it will be fine for your geckos.

Should be fine to use just make sure it holds heat
