I agree, I don't think a week old leo should be sold, either, especially shipped! A typical Mack Snow hatchling is about $50 I believe, maybe $45. A juvenile Mack Snow goes anywhere from $75-200, depending on how much yellow coloration it has. Doesn't sound like you're getting ripped off or anything.
Be careful buying it because yeah, it looks healthy in the picture, but hatchlings get stressed out VERY easily and go off of food (which is not good at all).
Yes I agree with Malt geckos comment.. You should not move hatchlings around to much. The first 3 weeks are a very critical time for them. They need to feel very secure during this time. If they go off food for just a few days they could go down hill and quick. Babies have not built up any fat/nutrient stores that they can live off of. I will not sell until they are at least 15 grams. And that is rare. I usually wait until they hit 20 or more...
As very nice looking as it is, I would advise you too pass. It should be bigger before they sell it for the hatchlings health. I would advice you to buy from a breeder on this site or wait untill the next Reptile show near you. Also if you buy it from a breeder here, you will know the genetics and have great customer service.
Thanks, I think that's what I might do. Should I talk to her and suggest waiting until they are older? She said she also has another smaller one but it isn't ready yet...she's letting it go for $10...so I'm thinking she doesn't really know what she is doing.
Sounds like she's picking and choosing prices to geckos. I'd pass. Tell her to wait till their at least 1 month for future references. Ha. Older if she's going to ship, of course.
