I have two younger geckos, and I dust their food with the T-Rex dust supplement every time I feed them. Do I need to keep some calcium supplement in a dish for them as well?

yes, it is always a good idea.. even if you don't see your gecko doing so.. it will lick the calcium if it needs more that she/he is getting from you dusting her/his food.

I should get calcium w/o D3 to put in a dish correct?

Reptileluv13,
dusting your Leos food is what you said. Putting the crix or whatever your feeding them and shaking it so they get coated. And D3 is a vitamin that they do need but too much can be harmful. Thats why you should only dust their food with D3 2-3 times a week.

Jared,
you're correct, you should get calci-powder w/o D3 for their little dish.

Hope this helps! :D

Jurrasical is the name brand I get. I would suggest this, just make surer you read the ingredients before buying because I'm pretty sure Jurrasical also makes calci-powder with D3.

I read the ingredient on a bottle of T-Rex, it seems that it doesn't contain much or any calcium, so I guess it is a good idea to dust feeder insects with calcium

I don't recommend keeping calcium in your tank, because:
1: As your geckos walk around in cage, sand can easily get into calcium dish
2: with high humidity in your cage, calcium can go bad within a day

zzz888,
#1, you shouldn't have sand in your cage in the first place.
#2, Leos should have low humidity.

Just so I'm clear:

Plain calcium in their cage (in a dish)
Dust food with calcium, and calcium/D3 three times a week

Ok, so I got the jurassi-cal w/o D3. Should I stop dusting feeder insects with the t-rex formula every feeding? My leos are still young. They aren't full grown.

Update- unless you have an old version of the T-Rex Leo dust, you are doing more harm than good by leaving out extra calcium. In the latest version of the T-Rex supplement, also sold as Calcium Plus through inventor Allen Repashy's distributors, it is completely balanced with calcium, vitamins and minerals with insect food. You should use it every time you feed insect food. Allen has written an extensive article on how he developed this supplement (down towards the bottom of this article).

The stuff sold by pet shops can be very old, you can get the latest version fresh from Allen's authorized distributors and it will be called "Calcium Plus" and sold in resealable aluminum foil pouches. See his website above for a listing of them.

This is how much I know without having the product infront of me at the moment....It's labled T-Rex and it has D3 in it, and it expires August of 2013.

There's no way to know which version that is. :( Allen's distributors all have had the new version for quite some time. If you see it in an aluminum foil pouch you know it is fresh as you can get it.
