umm yes they have long teeth. i have been bitten by them before, babies an adults. small babies can cause you to bleed. you have to handle them properly. some are "tame" others are evil but even the tame ones can and will bite. if you are afraid of the length of teeth and getting bitten by one you really should not have one. getting bit is part of keeping snakes, it happens. just thank goodness you aren't interested in emerald tree boas, they have even longer teeth

If it has teeth it can bite...

I don't own any myself, but will someday... I've heard that Manokwari locale GTPs are a good choice if you're looking for something with a calm temperment. The most important thing is to purchase them from a reputable breeder so you don't end up with wild caught animals...

if he has never kept snakes before a GTP is NOT a good first snake. if you look at his age he is 14. chances are if he is 14 and scared of the teeth he either has not kept any before OR maybe has had a corn snake or something.
as far as temperament i have an extremely evil jayapura which are suposed to be docile. biaks are known to be mean but we have had and come across some docile ones.
one thing about GTP's they are not snake to be handled like a corn or ball python can be. they are more to look at than to handle.

Yeah but so far my girls and guy are pretty sweet. But I can see it one day I'm going to do something stupid and one will get me, and it will be all my fault.

Ahhh... I'm glad someone pays attention to detail! :main_thumbsup:

Yeah, I'd never recommend a GTP to a beginner snake keeper. Maybe a retic is a better starting point... LMAO!
