All righties, I've never owned a reptile in my life as much as I love them, and I do plan on getting a leo sometime soon. So I'd like to know what would be best for me to get. As in age wise. Or would it really matter? All opinions would be great. :main_yes:
I hear that adults are easier to care for. But leopards are one of the best beginner reptiles, so even with a juvenile, you may not have much trouble. But I am sure an adult would be suggested.
Adults are generally calmer then babies but not always, I have seen adults that were more nervous then babies. It depends on if they have been handled at all.. The good part about babies is you get to raise them and they will get more use to you. The care is not much different for babies then adults, babies need to be fed more and their food needs to be dusted more then adults but nothing big.
Personally, my first two Leopard Geckos were babies. I really enjoyed the idea of getting them when they were young so I could see them progress and grow. 10 1/2 years later, one of them is my best breeder
As far as which is more calmer, about half of my hatchlings are fairly calm and a quarter of my adults are very skiddish. It all depends on the gecko IMO.
