Question of stuck shed in vent

I had Squeak out tonight so I could put the new tile down in his tank. I noticed some stuck shed on the base of his tail and pulled it off. Then I noticed a piece of shed stuck on his vent. It came off no big deal. Turns out there's more and it's inside his vent.

What's the safest way I can remove the shed? I gave him a warm soak and he was in there for around 15 minutes. It was still there so I took the tweezers to it. I went to take it off and his vent opened up and I noticed it was stuck to something else. Not sure but I immediately stopped because I didn't want to cause him any harm. I managed to get a very poor picture on my camera phone since my digital can't focus on things that close. I'm working on getting a new picture.

Any suggestions or am I better off going straight to the vet?

Could it be sperm plug?

I have never heard of a sperm plug until tonight. Now that I've done some research it could very well be a plug. He's six years old so there's a good chance that's what it could be. I'm going to give him a few days and see if he passes it in his next stool. I just laid down new tile in his tank and a fresh paper towel.

Hopefully that's what it is.

I was cleaning tanks this morning and noticed stool in his vent. He dropped a stool right outside of his hide last night which he's never done before. I also noticed what looks like a bubble of some type on side of his vent with the stool on the other side.

I was hesitant to try and remove either because I don't want to cause any damage in the process. Any suggestions or should I head to the vet? He's getting a warm soak right now.

Here's a poor quality picture. It's a beige type color and it's about the size of his normal stool but shaped like a ball. I don't want to pull on it for fear of tearing something unless someone says different.

I'm not sure what the beige covering is, but it appears to me as a prolapse (search "prolapse" here, Gregg has a good thread about a "broken ackie") try some sugar water soaks and some preparation-h and maybe it will clear up...

I got part of it to come off. The other half is stuck to what I'm guessing is his "manhood". Yesterday it was still pretty soft but now that it's been out in the air and he's been in his humid hide it's dried up and it's almost hard as a rock.
