OK...
I don't think anyone is looking at my post in the old Dubia thread...
But I need help.
I got a starter kit of Dubias...
And for food I'm using gutload...and for water I'm using water crystals...
For the bowls I used pieces of egg cartons.
I had those for about a day...but I never saw them eating from there.
So I changed them into little lids that are about a centimeter high (or 2)...
Its been half a day and I haven't seen them go in there...
What should I do?
Or do you never see them eat xD (I only have about 40)....

Thanks, Sam

Are you keeping them in a fairly dark place? The roaches are very shy, if you're bothering them too much and if the place is not dark enough, they won't come out. I think they may have been eating at night when you're not watching. Perhaps put a small piece of egg crate over the food dish and see if that'll help.

I don't use water crystal, I use various fruits e.g. apples, oranges, pears, etc. for moisture.

I rarely see my dubia eatting, but I know they are because I have to keep putting in new food. Also, if you put some carrots in there, you should be able to see where they have eatten it.

Yes they are in a dark place...in my closet with a lid...
I'll try fruit...but I still have like 1/2 year of crystals...
I thought they might...but its been two days and I've seen nothing...(its only 40 or so thought...)
But thats why I put bread in there...as a test xD

I think I will put an apple in for moisture...cause I don't think they can get to the water crystals cause none of them are disappearing...and I don't wanna put water on the floor...I don't know if it would make a mess.
