Okay... little background first. I picked up male and female Patternless adults at Repticon 2010. Was told they were both Murphy Patternless, no hets. Posted pictures of them on here and was told Murphy Patternless, which I thought they were but wanted to make sure because I stress and over worry everything lol.
So I bred them in 2011 and got some babies. Two went to friends who won't be breeding them. But I have 5 and I'm wondering about them... From what I've seen of hatchling/baby/juvenile Murphy Patternless, mine look nothing like them at all. So I took them off my list of Available Leos and holding on to them until I figure out what's what with them.

Sadly I don't have the hatchling photos as I lost my hard drive =/ But does anyone know what they look like or how they could have come about like this from a Murphy Patternless x Murphy Patternless?

I found some hatchling, and some younger photos of 1-5 and 7 on my site storage. Here's photos of them at different times...

And sorry if I seem to ramble on at all in my posts. I'm on some pain meds after surgery and seem to lose my thread of thought quite a lot lately o_O
I mean, they look like they could be normals to me... but I dunno. Maybe I'm over worrying? But how could I get normals from two Murphy Patternless? I dunno. If anyone can help... greatly appreciated. So confused. ><

those look like normal/hypos. if you didn't mix the eggs up, i'd think that one of the parents of these hatchlings is not a murphy's patternless. is it possible that another male fertilized the female that laid the eggs? maybe before you purchased them?

Well I purchased them in July 2010 when she was 7 months old. The breeder told me he kept them all in their own tubs, just like I do. So unless they lied, there was no way she could have mated before being introduced to the male Patternless in September 2011.

Sorry to repeat myself but I thought I would explain myself a little better.
Mom and Dad are attached pics. The second pic I would bet my life that is a Murphy Patternless at the very least (rainwater is debatable...)
The other I think is a blizzard that came from the sunset project while it was still being developed. Not nearly as colorful as the ones they are selling for $1000 but still a nice gecko. Notice the lack of faded body spotting and no white at all on the head which you see on the MP.

Depending on the way you look at it this could be good or bad.

I was going to say the intense speckling suggests that those offspring are probably het patternless. They appear textbook classically het patternless.

Not all highly speckled geckos are going to be het patternless, but if you see enough of them, you do start to notice a similarity. But since not every speckly gecko is het patternless, you can't call it a visual marker for the het.
I hope that makes sense.

And then Michelle explained everything. So, those babies are het patternless, het (sunset-ish?) blizzard, with possible rainwater genetics, according to her post.

Would be a good idea to figure out whether that murphy is a rainwater or het rainwater.

As far as I know the sunset project was done with tangelo blizzards (trempers), you could potentially have two albino strains as hets (really low possibility but it could be there). :(

Thanks all for your responses. So... if I understand this right... they're normals possibly double het for patternless and blizzard? Or possibly double het for albino strains? I've never had a normal... but are those normals? lol. It's kinda sad that I can recognize other morphs but not a normal ~_~

I believe you have a mix of Hypos and High Yellows. (It is a Hypo if it has 10 or less spots on the body, otherwise it is High Yellow)

het blizzard & MP (& rainwater(to be determined)), (likely) 50% het tremper

LMAO I hope that made sense... phew!

Okay, that made sense :p I'm on pain meds... so if I can understand it, you did good lol.
Thanks for the replies. I think I'll hold on to two of them and maybe test them out in the future. And give the rest away as pets only, to friends and family. Seems like the safest approach to not spread unproven/unknown genetics.
