Questions about Breeding

Hello, I was thinking about breeding leopard geckos for a while now. I have a 4 ft. long x 3 ft. wide x 2 ft. tall enclosure. I was thinking of splitting it in half and putting 1-2 females in one part and a male in the other.

I am going to get an incubator and all the things I will need to keep leopard geckos

I need to know if I can keep babies in 20 gallon tanks and how many I can keep in them. I was also wondering If I need any thing else?

Im also wondering what leopard geckos I should start out with? Also would 600 dollars be enough to start breeding?

Thank you.

You should be fine with all that stuff, the only thing I would change is keeping the babies housed individually to avoid fighting and tail loss, at least for a few months.
I should be having babies hatch in about 20 days or so and I'm planning on using plastic shoeboxes on shelves with heat tape and a thermostat.
Make sure the females have proper lay boxes! :main_yes:

I keep my babies in hatchling pairs in 20 gallon tanks divided into 3 sections by plexiglass. I use front-opening tanks so it's easier to get to them. That means I can keep up to 6 babies in a 20 long.

Do you guys think I could make a profit by doing this?

I highly doubt you will be making any "profit." Most small time breeders do it for the love of the animal and to see what they can come up with in colors. Most of the time, when I sell any, it may cover the cost of a single order of meal worms. Do it for the enjoyment, not for the money...

You should be able to get a bit of money for them at a local pet store. I sell babies to a small family owned store by me for $20-$40 each depending on the morph. Or you could always just sell them yourself.
