I recently bought a male crestie. I gave him a few weeks to settle in, then decided to take him out and see how he reacted to being handled (previous owner didn't hold him very much/at all) and he hated it which of course I was expecting. He's slowly started to get better, but still runs like his life depends on it (which he probably thinks it does, poor guy)
However, recently I discovered if I hold my female before I hold him, he gets her scent and doesn't try and run away, but instead sniffs/licks/nips/calls like he's trying to make sweet love to my hand. Now, I prefer this to him being scared out of his mind but I wanted to make sure this isn't going to harm him or if there's any downside to it (other than being kinda gross)
Also, every now and then he gets a nose whistle, is this normal? And if not, is keeping the humidity at the right temp pretty much all I can do? It doesn't seem to be bothering him thankfully, but it definitely worries me.
One last thing, he absolutely loves to burry himself in spaghnum moss (although he hasn't been doing it for the past week or two) I put more places for him to hide to see if he liked that better, but nope. He will either completely bury himself under it or bury his body and leave his little head out.
Thank you in advance for all your help!
