I might have missed it on JMG's site, but I was trying to get more info on the White Out AFT's? Did this trait just pop up in their geckos? Is it line bred? Recessive? Dominant? Any help and anymore information would be greatly appreciated!

I think it popped up in a pairing normal strip+amel stripe and after that it's line bred. It can be dominant and I know he will only sell females when the first are for sale.
But this is some news I remember a year back. I will also got fresh info about them...

Currently Jeff(as we discussed at a show) is thinking is is codom but more time is needed til a strong judgement can be made.

Okapi: Can you take a stab at this morph and how it is produced... ??

I wish I could, but ive found information on AFT morphs to be hard to find. I have 4 AFTs (1.1 stripe; 0.1 normal; 0.1 amel), and all I know is that the amel and stripe genes are recessive. VMS has some that they call "white socks" that they are test breeding. Then ive heard about jungle AFTs somewhere, but I dont know where. From the thread that was below this one that Jeff posted, I would assume that the whiteouts are co-dom, because that one dead in egg baby looks different enough to be a "super" whiteout. Aside from what Ive read here and on Jeff's site, I havent heard anything about whiteouts. No matter what they are, im sure that the whiteout trait will bring some much needed attention to AFT genetics :main_yes: and morphs.

EDIT: I just remembered that Jeff also has a patternless morph too, but all I know about them is what was posted in the other thread below. Once Jeff starts selling whiteouts in '08 and the patternless morph, as well as combining morphs (like amel whiteouts) im sure AFTs will get more attention. It seems to me that not enough people are breeding them

Yes the white out trait is Co-dominant. The original white out popped up in our collection years back from wild caught blood line fat tails that we were line breeding. We only produced one white out from that group of fats and the parents never produced another one. The original white out was a male and he was the one that started it all.
