howdy all... ive just been reading up here for a while now lurking about and learning all kinds of stuff that should make my friends more happy... my questions...

UTH.... should they be smaller than the tank or cover the whole bottom?? so for like a 10 gallon tank, would i be good with a 1-5 gal. UTH orr???

then my other question wich im completly clueless on.... Humid Hides... could someone please explain this to me? is it like a cave or is it just a lil "spot" for them to chill in... what is it and how should i go about doing it???

thanks all in advanced! :main_thumbsup:

The UTH should cover between 1/3 and 1/2 of the bottom, so that one end of the tank is warmer than the other end and the gecko can choose between a gradient of temperatures.

You want the UTH to cover ¼ to 1/3 of the tank. I would go with the 10 gallon size, for a ten gallon tank.

Just a hide, that has a moist medium, that allows the humidity to be higher. I didn’t look at that link, but I’m sure it explains it.

If you have a 10 gallon tank you should be okay with a UTH for a 10 gallon tank. They aren't as large as you may think. I struggled with this too. It won't go as long as the 10 gallon tank is. I bought one for a 10 to 20 gallon tank & it only covers about 1/4 of my tank.

a 10 gallon is really small for a guy that size.
I would go for a 20. Some people here just cut out old plastic grocery things,
but any cave at a petstore can work ,leos will try to fit into anything I have noticed lol.
All three of my females will cram into one hide to sleep so I am sure you can find a humid hide.
