Quick Q's re: Moist Hides

Hey all!

As a moist hide would it be alright to do the ol' upside-down tupperware container with a cut-out doorway with moist paper towels inside? I'm assuming the paper towels would need to be replaced at least once a day.

Either way, should the "moistness" inside be warm or cool? IE. Should I be spraying inside the moist hide with warm water?

Also, should the moist hide be on the warmer side of the tank or the cooler?

Thanks a ton!

I would not turn it upside down, unless the hide is enclosed, I don’t think it would stay moist enough if open. I don’t replace the paper towel unless it is dirty either, and I keep mine on the warm side, this allows the water to evaporate, allowing the humidity to be higher.

Ah, so you mean keep it right-side up (not upside down) and make a "pizza slice" cut on the top lid and let him use that opening to get in?

I was initially going to place it upside-down and make an entrance for him along the side, but I've also seen people use that other method as well.

And Halley, how often do you find yourself having to spray inside it? And I'm assuming I should be spraying with warm water, aye?

EDIT:
Oh, wait, you know what? I just understood what you meant.
When I place it upside-down I'm still keeping the lid on, so I'm not using the tank floor as the same floor in the hide. Is that what you meant? I think I'll go with your idea though, because the tupperware is see-through except for the lid itself, and for the sides I can put objects along the outside so he feels safer and more comfortable inside.

Shure, but you dont need to turn it upside down.
Just cut a hole in the top and fill w/ moss or whatever.

If you have your opening at floor level, they can scatter the moss all over
the floor of the terrarium.
