quick question about meal worms

so i have about 500 meal worms and want to start a small colony of them ive read the threads about them and am wondering how long does it take for the beatles to lay eggs and how long to hatch i have about 60 beatles right now and more are on the way any one have any ideas?


and yes i know 500 meal worms wont make a great colony but i dnt want to have a huge one right now

My colony takes about 2 months of beetles together before i can visually see worms throughout the drawer...at which point i move the beetles (so they don't eat the worms) and then start raising those worms up to be fed. So if you have beetles then figure 11/2 to 2 1/2 months before you will noticeably see worms (also depends on the temps though)

i keep my container of mealworms ontop of my big set up which is about a foot above a heat light
