I thought I was getting better on genetics, but I need some help on these two.

Parents are eclipse het tremper and aptor het raptor.

I know the first would be het tremper. Would she also be het eclipse/raptor?

The second is tremper. Would she be het eclipse/raptor?

Thanks!

Without eye pictures, this is a tough call. But based on what I can see:

Picture #1 = Tangerine Tremper Jungle het Eclipse
Picture #2 = Aptor het Eclipse

Beautiful Hatchlings! :main_thumbsup:

The first one is definitely not albino. She hatched with dark black markings. The second is definitely tremper. I didn't think she'd be considered an aptor since she has a pattern.

Albino Patternless Tremper line Orange (Aptor)

I assumed that meant they were patternless just like Raptor's.

I can definitely provide some images that will change your mind. ;) Have a look around (i.e., classifieds).

And notice I said...

Without eye pictures, this is a tough call.

I'm not convinced the first one isn't Albino without an eye shot.

She has normal eyes.

Here she is when she hatched.

They're a couple weeks old now. Todays pic is after a couple sheds.

I knew the first one was het tremper and the second was tremper. I just wasn't sure if they were 100% het eclipse.

Thanks for your help.:)

Yep, first one is het Tremper. That's clearly not an Albino eye. The pattern has faded LOTS since that gecko hatched out.

APTOrs can have pattern, just as RAPTOrs can. And for this reason, the acronym is pretty misleading. I really do understand your point though. As an example, Banded RAPTOr would also be a contradiction in terminology. It's best not to "read" too much into the name. After all, it is just a name.

1--Patternless Stripe het Tremper/Eclipse
2--Jungle Tremper het Eclipse

:main_yes:

but as the tremper ages the patterning could fade away enough to be an APTOR. Many people sell patterned trempers as aptor het raptor(I have a few that cost :main_evilgrin: and are awesome) but by definition they aren't aptors. If everyone sells ponys as horses, that doesn't make them horses ...... hahaha

In maurice's defense, some aptors have a bit of a patterning from the patternless stripe, but that isn't the pattern an aptor should have by definition, but it could "hypo" into one. I personally don't care if aptor het raptor has a pattern, because it's the het raptor that's important to me.
