Allright, so I found a 55 gallon tank on craigslist and wanted to buy it to move my 2 geckos to a bigger home. The thing is it has a stain along the top that has a whitish color. I need to know if I can remove it before I buy it. I was told stuff called CLR can without a problem but I am not sure. I'll try to attach a picture...

Grr it says the picture is too big and I can't seem to get it on here. Would anyone mind if I emailed it to the so they can post it for me? It'd be greatly appreciated. I really don't want to waste my money if it's not a removable stain. Thank you.

It's about 300 KB too big it says... only up to 430 or so kb for attachments.

To post a picture you could always upload it to photobucket or tinypic and use the insert image button when you go to post. Or you could upload it and just put the link for people to click.

But about the stain, it just sounds like it's stained from it being used as a fish tank and they left still water in there for awhile. My 15 gallon had that and all I did was use dish liquid to wash it out and a razorblade to scrape the stain off. Might scratch the glass a bit but most of the stain will be removed.

Take a scrubby and use vinegar to scrub it off, it sounds like mineral deposits from it being a fish tank. The 55gal I got off craigslist (FIFTEEN DOLLARS!!!) was an old turtle tank and had green algae in it and the white ring around it and was REALLY nasty. About 30-45min of scrubbing, rinsing, scrubbing some more got it lookin great though. It shouldn't be to hard to clean out.

15 bucks? Nice. I recently got a huge (not sure how big it is exactly, I have yet to bring it home) for only $10. But then again, it was a friend who just wanted to get rid of it lol
