my female is ovulating and is 53 grams so i paired her up with my sunglow and the first time i introduced them he did his tail routine and he bit her tail she didnt like that at all so she took a bite to his head being a first time breeder i got nervous and separated them. the next day i tried again and he bit her tail again and she flipped out again so i took her out and she had a little cut nothing serious..any advice would be great i dont want to miss out on this season.

If she is not receptive to the male there is not much you can do other than wait a few days and try again. Are you sure she is ovulating?
