I may be getting 2 gargoyle geckos in trade this week and was curious as to a couple points. I understand that they are very similar to crested but I was curious as to there breeding requirements. im getting a virgin pair but I have a feeling that's going to end up a 0.2.0. I would also like to know a good way to sex them. thank you.

I have gargs and cresties but only breed gargs. I have heard (and found this myself in my first garg breeding season last year) that while cresties tend to be male, gargs tend to be female. In looking at my adult male garg, his hemipenal bulges are very obvious but I can't figure out where the preanal pores are, so maybe the bulges are the way to go. Breeding seems pretty straightforward, though the general wisdom is that gargs don't do well if kept together regularly. In my case, I've found that my 2 females are fine together and my male and 1 of my females are fine together (they've been together without incident for nearly a year), but the other female doesn't do well with the male and she's now on her own. So far I've got 3 hatchlings and 6 eggs in the incubator!

my concern was weight. im very cautious about my bearded dragons and Leos weight. I was informed that these are about 1 1/2 years old and the normal female is possible gravid. im just worried about underweight breeding. id also love to learn how there genetics work.

My female gargs are doing well in their breeding at 45-50 grams or so. I'm not sure anyone really understands garg genetics, but I may be wrong.

well I should be getting my gargoyles today. I will post pics later and I will also probably build another custom terrarium.
