My adults tubs are 15 Quart and the Babies are 6 quart, and i use back heat and i works just fine. Plus the rack allready had heat tape built into the back.

I hate building Racks so i just buy them.

I feel like using back and bottom may be a perfect solution in the sense that ambient air is increase by back heat
The ambient air temperatures are not that important, but the belly heat is essential for their digestion and metabolism.

I view this poll more like a matter of preference, much like crix Vs. mealworms Vs. superworms. I use belly heat now and is my #1 choice but I used to use ceramic heat emitters for a long time with no ill effects as well. I think belly heat is just the more popular option. I have yet to hear of a breeder having had a bad experience with their use over back heat.

Just my .02:D
