Rack size?

ok i found this lil nifty rack that MIGHT work for leos ut my question is ....

Is it big enough?

the dimensions are

10 in wide
14 3/4 in long

and the catch is

3 1/4 in tall/ deep

=S thats the thing idk if its deep enough... do leos need more headspace?

Personally, I do not think that is tall enough. I have hides taller than that in mine, I think that it would be very hard to find proper hides that would fit in that space.

I'd say they need more head room than that. They need space to grow, and they love to climb.

i threw in my juvie i have and his hide box just to see if it would fit and it did but like i said i dont want to cramp them

My boaphile rack draws are only 3 inches deep... IMO, it is plenty... Floor space is way more important to a leo than hieght... They do spend most of their life wedged in tight cracks... GLAD containers fit perfectly with even a little bit of space for them to sit on top... I personally feel that the geckos feel more secure in tight places... Its pretty natural for them...

well then.... now im torn

i want to use these racks but some say no and some say yes

i could at least use them untill i build my real rack system it would be a temporary thing anyway but like i said i dont wanna cramp them but would it be acceptable to house them there for a month or so? just till a make my real rack system.

i found these racks on the side of the road so if it would be acceptable it would be awesome

I have a few geckos in tubs that are about that same size (square inches, different dimensions) and the same height. I use Rubbermaid TakeAlong containers, and the geckos can fit in the containers and stand on the containers perfectly fine without any discomfort. I’d say you’d be fine temporally or forever.
