It's a lot easier to clean up. Repticarpet has to be taken out, washed and let dry. Paper towels are cheap and you just throw the dirty one away and put a new one in. When dealing with a few geckos it's fine but some breeders have 100+ geckos. That's a lot of extra work.

i like using shelf liner so i don't have to throw away the substrate each week.

currently I am using paper towels but I am thinking of switching to shelf liners or the premade liners. I throw away a lot of papertowels and my males like to move them around and then mess on the plastic anyways lol
