I built all of mine. That way I could build exactly what I wanted, when I had funds available. They are relatively easy to put together and the most difficult part is setting up the heat tape.

I got mine for Reptile Basics http://www.reptilebasics.com/store/home.php?cat=251 and really like it. Cost was $224.99 for the STC-410 (Iris Tubs) and it comes ready right out of the box. What a difference in keeping geckos using the rack. Now I can tell exactly what is going on with each animal. Oh...don't drill the air holes. Comes out so much nicer if you use a soldering iron - make sure you do it in a well ventilated area - outside.

We built all of ours. It is very easy to do. I will try to find a link to a page that tells you everything.:main_thumbsup:

I got my first AP rack a few months ago and it's really nice. However, my next couple are going to be from www.boaphileplastics.com. The tubs, heat and shipping is included in the price there. The only problem is they don't come in 7 high units.

Hmm, doesn't look like AP ships to Canada.

I liked the looks for Boaphiles...will have to check if they ship here!

Maybe a basic questin, but does anyone know what the measurement is of a sweater tub? I didn't see them on the BP site.

Don't forget you'll have to wait months upon months to get them either! *lol*

Actually every time I ordered a rack from them, it took exactly 4 and a half weeks from the order date to arrive at my door....

I have had good transactions with Boaphile.... In the 4 times I ordered from them, I had one issue that was quickly taken care of by the people at Boaphile... I cant say anything bad about them from my personal experience...

Here is a link to a good page on how to build one. This guy is not real popular anymore but this page still has some great information.

Hope this helps. It is how I built my last two racks and is very easy with no cutting. The last one cost me about 70.00 with out the heat tape, thermostat or tubs. But it holds 30 12 quart tubs or 15 32 quart tubs.

The rack I got from reptile basics is great. Iris tubs and the pictures don't do it justice. They are in stock and are the 15qt tubs - I keep singles in them. I ordered it on Sunday via the web and it was delivered on friday. The price includes shipping, heat and iris tubs.

That REALLY surprises me. I've seen more bad posts on the BOI about them then good. Mostly due to their poor customer service & turn around time.

I ordered a Boaphile years ago & it took 6 weeks to arrive. I didn't like it, so I sent it back. I ordered from Casey & I had 2 new racks within a week.

My larger 32qt racks (6 bins each) my Fiance built. If I had ordered the custom racks from somewhere else, they would have cost me $350+, making them they only cost $100 with all materials, tubs & heating.

Hmmm...

I wanted to order the 20 shoebox rack for $358, but I could get 2 10 shoebox racks from NSR for a bit less. I get my thermostats from them and know their custom service is great. BUT can I use back heat for hatchlings?

I use back heat for 6qt bins without issues.

Belly heat for boxes that small is overkill in my opinion.
