I want to produce a RADAR... what would be the best option for me?

I can get a hold of a blizzard eclipse male, aptor male, raptor male.. Then I have a bell albino female.. what would you guys suggest? What combination would yield a higher percentage of radars?

I believe you need two things to make a RADAR,

1) Eclipse that is proven non-het for Tremper albino

2) Bell albino

Crossing those two will make the double hets required to create a RADAR. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong.

Theoretically, you could also make them by breeding HQ Redstripes (especially the "patternless" redstripes) to striped Bells...and then breeding the offspring together.

Yes, I know I need an eclipse and a bell but all I have acces to is a blizzard eclipse and a bell. I know that would also produce RADARs (well, their offsprings will) but with a very low percentage.

I guess I'd go for the Blizzard Eclipse, since both the APTOR and RAPTOR are definitely going to carry the Tremper albino gene. I would think you'd need to prove that the Eclipse isn't het albino first before making true RADARs though.

the %tage is the same just with the pos to have the Blizzard gen involved.

i tried to see the percentage using punnet square(Male Bell Albino x Female Blizzard Eclipse).. and what i got is 1/64 RADAR, 2/64 RADAR het Blizzard and 1/64 Radar Blizzard.. Is this correct? :D

That's what I thought of also.. :D

I'm working on a RADAR based project. I acquired a male het for both Eclipse and Bell, a Bell Hybino female, a Blizzard Eclipse female, a Patty Eclipse female, and some odds and ends (Eclipses that may or may not be het Tremper). I decided to refine it and eschew involving the Eclipses that are possible het for Tremper as well as the Bell Hybino.

I'm not sure what JMG will end up doing, but it would look cool as all get out if they worked their Blood Hypo line deeply into their RADARs.

Blizzard supposedly with the eclipse gene and snake eyes and Murphy Patternless that is possibly eclipse with full eyes. I'll be testing them to verify this, mind you. If they end up not passing it on to their offspring due to the claims being mistaken, I'll just drop the project. No big deal. It should test properly within one season if they respond normally.

Gotcha.

I just wanted to make sure you weren't thinking a full eyed blizzard has the "eclipse gene" . Alot of people are confused by them.

Do you have images of that full eyed patty, that sounds AWESOME!!!

I was thinking the same thing about the blizzard-there's always confusion there. I'd like to see a pic of the patty too. It's definately a Murphy's, and not a really yellow looking blizzard?

I have 1.9 black-eyed Tremper blizzards, and when I bred them to a Raptor, I got 100% normal eyed Trempers. The eye condition is in effect the same/similar, but it's a result/effect of different genetic paths. I really want to see your partial eyed patty, too :main_thumbsup: is it red or black looking?
