Raising temperature through slate with uth

As in another thread I posted, I'd like my slate to warm up more. Right now my uth is going through the bottom of my glass tank, through a light layer of coco coir with slate on the top. The temperature likes to stay around the 89 mark. If I were to remove the coconut coir and put the uth directly under the slate (between glass and slate) would that be stupid? I just don't know if anyone has done this with positive outcomes. Just an idea. :main_huh:

Putting the UTH between would be a bad idea. The heat with no air could cause the tank to crack. That's why they give you the tabs to raise the tank up.

I would recommend using sand instead of the coco fiber under the slate sand transfers heat really well where the coco fiber is looser and may be dissipating some of your heat. i know sand is iffy due to ingestion problem but if the entire tank is covered in slate that shouldn't be an issue.
