Raising your own crickets

I have a beat up 55 gallon tank in my garage that I lined with a mix of leaf litter, calci-sand, topsoil, and lawn clippings. I pour some water in there every so often, I throw carrot and apple pieces within, and I leave one piece of moistened egg crate in there. I bought 500 crickets for ~$10 at a local show and dumped them in there. I have not run out yet, although I have not been using crickets as feeders recently because they smell and are just generally inconvenient. I like pinkies so much more than anything else and I just barely like superworms more than crickets.

Anyway, the good side is that I have feeders at all times for any size leo.

You are right, they are bloody inconvenient.
But my male wont eat mealies. He just pushes them around with his nose and licks off the calci dust!! :D
