RAPTOR genetics

In theory yes you should, but Raptor genetics are very complicated. you would also produce Tremper albinos Double het raptor etc.. You could breed
Raptor x Raptor
Raptor x enigma het raptor
Raptors x super snow
Raptor x Blazzing blizzard
raptor x super giants
These are some of the combos I am looking at...

Yes. All Raptors. Eye color may vary. Some will have full eyes, snake eyes, red splotches, etc.

Mack Super Snow hands down. Besides the fact that you can hatch out Mack Raptors, Mack Eclipses, and Super Raptors, the Mack Snows that are het Raptor have really nice patterns on them! The Raptor gene gives them cool stripe patterns.

You could also pair a Raptor up with an Eclipse het Tremper, to get Eclipses and Raptors.

you will produce mostly raptors but not all will be raptos. I had a pretty
big breeding group of raptors last season and did not produce 100% raptors..

NO! you will not get 100% Raptors! I have bred Raptor to Raptors, and Raptor to banded raptors, jungle raptors and striped raptors and not once have I ever gotten all Raptors...the eye trait is not a simple recessive!!! think of it more a possible effect of the Aptor condition...

Whew, Godzillizard, relax buddy! Don't suffer an aneurysm on the newbie. ;-) He's only got 4 posts, give 'im a break! Lots of exclamation points there, makes it seem like you're yelling.

It's good to know though. I'm dealing with het raptors this year and I'm hoping to get a raptor. We'll see!

My Results

I bred Solid Eyed Raptor x Solid Eyed Raptor last season and got 15 raptors that all looked very similar and all had solid red eyes except the last single egg clutch hatched snake eyed. But thats just my results. :)

Some breeders get lucky.. You got lucky congrats. what we need to realize is this, You are not working with your normal Recessive Tremper albino (Tremper to Tremper produces all Tremper). The raptor morph is very complicated with a number of genetic makeups. I have bred raptor to raptor and not produced all raptors. Now dont get me wrong they were some really cool funky looking Trempers but not all will be raptors. From a beginners point of view on genetics, yes you would think it should, but from a breeders experience it does not..:)

would a RAPTORxRAPTOR give you 100% raptors? and what would be something good to breed with a RAPTOR?

No you would not get 100% RAPTOR.The only two traits that breed true is Talbino and eclipse.

Talbino eclipse patternless striped X Talbino eclipse patternless striped = .

Possible expected offspring.

Talbino eclipse normal.
Talbino eclipse aberrant.
Talbino eclipse jungle.
Talbino eclipse striped.
Talbino eclipse reverse striped.
Talbino eclipse patternless striped-aka-RAPTOR.

To breed with a RAPTOR could be ANY morph that is carrying or expressing Talbino and eclipse and you can't go wrong.

Gazz that is probally the best explaination I've heard regarding the raptor genes. Alot of people forget about the patternless stripe part and it's different outcomes.(including me). :main_thumbsup:

That is definately not the norm and you will want to keep that pair together for future breedings.

I wonder about their offspring will produce like results. The RAPTOR could be multi-recesive trait with even possibly polygenic traits for the eyes. It seems that your two might have the mojority of the traits needed to hit 100%. IDK just my thoughts. :)

It would be interesting to see what happens if you breed one of the offspring back to one of the parents.
