This has probably been beaten with a shovel. LOL
Do the solid ruby eyeds x solid ruby eyeds produce ruby eyeds or are snake eyes still part of the equation?

a raptor is a raptor (genetically) meaning no matter how much red is in the breeders eyes--you'll get the same percentage of red eyed offspring--and those red eyed offspring might have a tiny sliver of red or have totally red eyes. It's very random. I wish I would've known that when I shelled out top dollar for solid eyed breeders...

bummer....:main_cool3:
I've hatched a number of solid red eyed raptors from an aptor x raptor pairing, but only one snake eyed. Actually the snake eyed raptors are really cool and I don't think you'll be too bummed at all if you hatch some. Variety is a good thing, there is nothing wrong with a snake eyed.

Well but I have a question than, if so why does some breeders only have ruby eyed Raptors? Isn´t their a chacne to get more ruby eyed from ruby eyed papa and mama?

I think it's just a random genetic thing that you can't really calculate. Perhaps some geckos are likely to produce more of one than the other? I haven't bred enough to venture a guess on that yet.

I have seen for example Shelly from Lizardlair. She has only full ruby eyed Raptors for sale.
Than I see my Raptors from RERS*Raptor breeding(both 2 se's) and all have se's.
I just wonder is that only damn good luck or could their be something like with linebreed or just full eyed produce more full eyed.

I have hatched five raptors so far this year from a solid eyed male to three hets that were produced from the father and an aptor het raptor mother(who also came from solid eyed father). Last year was only two raptors and both were solid eyed. All five this year have been solid eyed. Also have had two eclipses hatch and both have solid black eyes. No snake eyes here .......so far.

Another thing to consider is that just because a gecko hatches with red eyes, doesn't neccesarily mean that they will keep them. I've had 3 Raptors hatch with 50/50 snake eyes, and 2 of them faded away completely in the first few months of life...the third one has maybe 10% red in each eye now?!? These 3 guys came from solid eyed Raptor bred to Aptor het Raptors--bred in '07.

Thanks again for the info. It sounds to be completely random.
As far as color and pattern go I love the raptors and I hate to sound bias lol, but the snake eyes just look goofy to me. Almost like their cross eyed. Ha Ha Yet I freakin' love the solid ruby eyes. Solid eyed bells are going to blow raptors out of the water. I can't wait to see more of them. ;)

I share the same view with you! I don't like how the snake eyes make them look like cross eyed. I'm planning for my own breeding project at the moment, I asked the same question last week about the probability of snake eyes popping up from 2 full eyed parents. Seems like snake eyes are random...baah.
