Hi

What determines a high end raptor? Obviously it has to have two red eyes Correct?.obviously orange body.What other traits must it have?

Solid patternless orange/yellow Body and solid red eyes.

I prefer snake eyes and deep orange coloration. Giant gene never hurts either LOTS OF CARROT TAIL!!!!

I'm not trying to toot my horn but here is a good photo of one of my raptors. Its what you would consider a good example of a high end sample of the morph. No pattern, bright orange body and almost a complete carrot tail.

I prefer the jungle Raptors myself. The "pattern less" ones are just forcing the color and pattern off of the gecko--just look at the "whitesides"--they are headed towards the drab/washed out look in my opinion. I'll stick to the funky ones--like a graffitti artist went loco on your gecko

Do raptor hatchlings lighten up or darken as they get older??

It depends on the temps you keep them at and the quality of the parents. Usually they are very pinkish orange when they come out then get a little oranger. Some fade though. So it really does depend on the parents too. Temps and blood line.
