So I have a question about RAPTORs. I frequently see them for sale with a lot of patterning. Are these really RAPTORs? I also see banded RAPTORS or jungle RAPTORS. Are these just tremper eclipses without the patternless trait? Wouldn't it be better to label them as such? Are these being marketed incorrectly, or am I over thinking it. I'm new to RAPTORs and I'm just curoius. Thanks!!

In my opinion, only geckos with no pattern should be called RAPTORS. However, like languages, names of morphs develop based on what people do with them, no matter what's exactly correct. People continue to market "banded RAPTORS" which is obviously a contradiction. I guess we just have to live with it.

I think the confusion comes from the fact that the patternless stripe trait is line bred. A lot of people use genetic calculators to determine the outcome of their couplings and since the calculators do not take into consideration line bred traits, a tremper albino eclipse is labeled as a raptor.
