This is kind of starting to freak me out.

Has anyone gotten eggs that end up being 3 times the size of all the others? I thought that they were huge when she layed them but now they're just gigantic! These are from a normal x normal accidental pairing at Petco and they didn't know what to do when she started laying so they gave her to me. So they're definitely not giants. Here's what the previous clutch that hatched on 12/23 looks like -

I had a a female lay an egg that was about 1.5 inches and hatched a little one that was 3.9g last year.

I have some in the incubator right now that are on the large size, funny thing is they are due to hatch anyday now and they are almost round instead of long.

I have gotten eggs like that before, I feel so bad for the females that lay them...LOL The babies that hatch from them are usually normal sized babies. I am not sure why the eggs are that big though.

I had one egg that ballooned out like that and it happened to be infertile, but lasted forever in the incubator.... go figure.

My first egg was kept invery very wet vermiculite and it was just gigantic, it could be really filled with water.

I had a clutch where one egg was huge and the other one normal. When the baby hatched from the huge egg it was 3.4 grams.

Well, it looks like we lost one of them. I was checking all of the eggs tonight and one of the big eggs was deflated. It had several little cut marks on the bottom of it and there wasn't any movement inside so we cut it open. The normal looking size baby was dead and still had quite a bit of yolk that it hadn't absorbed. I'm not sure if it was trying to get out a little too early or if the egg leaked. Either way we're really bummed. :(

I just checked the other egg and it hasn't deflated at all but it has shrunk considerably. Now it looks just like a regular, about to hatch egg. I'm stumped now. If anyone can help me out on this one I'd reeeeaaally appreciate it! I don't want to loose the second one.

Thanks Felicia. I just hope it hatches before I have an anxiety attack! They usually hatch while I'm asleep so this is driving me nuts.
