Re-growing a tail after 1 year?

Bonnie, I'm glad that it has been decided to discontinue the sub-q Baytril injections. They certainly do seem like they're doing more harm than good. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your husband having many quality years left with Lemsip...torture-free!

I lit a candle for lemsip and you. I hope that now that they have decided to stop the injections maybe he will start to improve. Best wishes to both of you. Remember these little guys are real fighters!!!!

Thankyou everyone! I don't know why, but somehow I have strong feeling that Lemsip will get better without the injections. I still have hope!! We felt so relieved yesterday when the vet says no surgery and no more injections...

I am so glad to hear that surgery is no longer something that's really required and that he's off of the injections!!! I wonder why they didn't have the Baytril administered orally to begin with? Either way, this is all very good news Keep us updated on how the oral injections go, and best wishes to you and Lemsip!!

Good news, everyone! Lemsip has shown improvement with the oral Baytril! His tail is less red and the skin is also healing. The vet wants us to keep giving him Baytril for at least one month, then take him back for re-check.

I'm a little worried that the amount of medication Lemsip is receiving will do harm to his kidney or liver in the long run; but the vet said it shouldn't be a problem. So, we're happy. He do not know if the infection will ever go away completely; but at least at this stage, it is contained and we are on the right track in dealing with the problem.

A side note, the vet told us that his assistant, ever since he saw Lemsip a month ago, fell in love with leopard geckos, and is now preparing to get one! Yay, everybody likes leopard geckos!
