Re-introducing breeding pairs

I have all my geckos now (all housed separately at the moment), I've done a little research and some sites say to remove the male from the female after they have bred and other sites say to leave them together all the time so they don't go through the stress of being re-introduced all the time. Which one is better?

I keep my groups together Jan. till Oct (or whenever I have empty cages for the males). I find that there's a lot of mating till about June and then the males get bored with it. I've never had problems with too much breeding or too much egg laying. I do like separating the males for awhile in the winter to re-combine the females and get the males excited again.

What size tanks are they in?? I tried to re-intro clyde with bonnie last season after about 4 clutches and it was a throw down! I get the reasoning behind letting them stay together but is there are recommended tank size for this to give the female enough space to stear clear of the horny male!

I keep 1.2 (and rarely, 1.3) in a 20 long. However, I have a 12"x12" heated upper level. Minimally I have 2 hides plus the laybox (which doubles as a hide) on the lower level and another hide on the upper level The males I have seem to be pretty good about backing off when the females say "no". I had one instance of a pretty bad tail bite which I didn't witness but that male and the female in question were fine for the rest of the season after that (I separated her until her tail healed and she didn't drop it). My male population is pretty stable.

I have a double hood. One night black light and one sun light. Both are heat. The sun is set up on a timer according to the actual sun so I can start spring when it is actually becoming fall in the real world. That way I get eggs all year.
