I never had a gecko lay eggs before but today I went to check up on them and I noticed an egg!

I hate to start a new thread about egg questions but I'm in the middle of finals right now so I don't have much time to research.

Long story short...she hasnt been eating for over a month so the vet has told me to give her A/D which I have been for the past month. Flash was also not pooping so meds were given and enemas helped too and she's been somewhat pooping. Now all of a sudden I have one egg...which came out with her poop. Is this normal? She has only been with a female but has been seperated for a few months since they were fighting. The egg never showed up in the xray (are they supposed to?) and when I fed her yesterday, I didn't see or feel anything. She was pigging out on calcium for a coupld weeks..which is for the egg I've read. But what do I do now? Can I just toss the egg? Will she lay another? I didn't have a lay box for her because I didn't even know this was happening..is that a problem?? I'm hoping it's an egg and not something bad. It's a pretty ugly looking egg if it is one. lol Any help would be great as I am freaking out and I have a final tmrw morning! GAH!

well I'm not as concerned about the egg as I am about her. Will she lay another one? Is there any specific care I need to do now?

She did not look like she even had an egg...I've been checking her underside as per vet's orders and I didn't see anything unusual yesterday. I don't want to touch her to see if she has another one in her.

Well.... Considering that I dont have a leo, I cant tell ya much. This is what I can do. If you dont want the egg, then poke it (or have someone do it for ya) with something and see if its even an egg. Thats all I can say. I hoped this helped! :)

That is a "slug" or partially formed infertile egg. A lot of times they do come out with excrement so that all looks perfectly normal.

Thanks Mel! That makes me feel better. My sister who does not have a gecko suggested maybe it came out with her poop. ( like a huge build up of poop) lol crazy but I never experienced this before. Lol. Now should I be concerned with her laying another one too ? Hopefully this solves the problem of why shes been sick for so long when actually she was just laying an egg and now she can go back to normal.

They do act "off" during that time. And it can certainly be aggravating. I imagine they aren't too happy with the situation either. One of my girls has been snubbing me for the past month, ever since I took her eggs.
