Okay, I hope this is the right section for this. But I was wondering id my records need anything else. Here is what I keep track of so far.

If I buy the gecko I have a little card on the cage that looks kidda of like this

Name: ___ Dorothy ___ Status: ____________

ID: __ HY-F-29 __ Sex: __ F __

Hatch Date:____ 05? ____

Date Obtained:___ 05/05/07 ___

Genetics:__ Normal __

Breeder’s Name:____ None____

Company:__ Petco __

Then I also have a card on the hatchling cage that keeps track of the following.

• Laid Date
• Cook Temp
• Hatch Date
• Dam
• Sire
• ID #
• Genetics
• Weight at hatchling
• Date when reached 50g
• Days it toke to reach 50g

Then for the egg laying records this is what I keep track of

• Who the dam, and sire where
• When the dam was breed
• When the dam laid the eggs
• How many eggs that dam laid
• How many of those egg hatched
• Temp the eggs where cooked at
• The sex of the gecko, once it is visibly sexed
• When the eggs hatched
• ID # of the hatchling
• How big the hatchling was when born
• When the hatchling reaches 50 grams (Breeding Size), or the weight when I sold the hatchling
• Or if the eggs died, just the date laid, and the believe reason why the egg didn’t make it.

(The male has one of these for each of the females that he bred to, to make sure he isn’t shooting blanks and what not)

Then I also have a card on the hatchling cage that keeps track of the following.

I want to keep track of as much as I can, to make sure I have everything I need to know about the gecko, and that the person why buys them, has all the information that they want to know. So does this cover everything, or not?

Yeah, my ID system just tells me what morph, what sex, and just a #

Lets say for a Bell Albino Female the ID would be

BA-F-#

The # just depends on what # in the line she is.

Or lets take a Bell Albino, that is also het Patternless she would have

BAhPA-F-#

Or a Bell albino, 66% het Patternless, would be

BA66PA-F-#

you might also look into the program Degei .... http://www.degei.com/

I am so loving it now that I'm learning how to use it.

(I DO NOT PROFIT FROM THIS POST )

Okay, I saw a ball python breeder that used that once. I e-mailed them about it and they never e-mailed me back. I don’t think I’m big enough to use that yet (79 geckos) but I will use it in the future, I’m glad I know what it is now. Thank VERY much for showing me that.

I only have 4 geckos --- but 'm very computer oriented, so I'm more likely to use something computer based anyway.

The free trial version doesn't let you play with the breeding parts of it, but you can play with the rest ---

But your paper cards are very thorough too :)
