I hatched these out yesterday.

Dad is a Ruby eyed RAPTOR type animal.

Mom is a tangerine jungle het Tremper.

Here are two neat red eyed geckos that they produced. Both have the red eyes on each side.

Otherwise you hatched out a gecko with ruby red eyes when the mother isnt het for them? Could that possibly prove the Ruby Red Eyes to be dominant? Well oviosuly not prove it, but get a hint that they could be?

I was thinking something along these lines too...

I wish i had an adult raptor male, id be breeding a normal to him to see if i could throw any ruby eyed offspring. Any possiblilty that female could have been het for the Ruby Red Eyes?

Although I have heard speculation that PRS unlocks the Eclipse gene, so considering that your female was a jungle, there is a possibility that you just proved that theory alittle more...

Dont know how everyone else feels, but it looks to me like stripe and jungle are linked... so if the male raptor oviously is carrying the reverse stripe gene, and the female is a jungle, its possible that the female actully passed down the stripe gene, and the male passed down RS or PRS, and you simply just unlocked the eclipse gene

they are very nice babies Jer. but not to be a downer i dont think that they are RAPTOR eyes. i think it was just high incubation temp. i have some hatch like that this year as well and got all excited but it would fade after a couple of weeks. if it stays that is great but give it a couple of weeks.

but the good news is that the babies are "het" Raptor so breeding them back to the dad you will get RAPTORS i bet

last year i breed my eclipse to some stripish girls. this year the babies were breed back to the dad and that is how i got alot of my eclipse this year. so it kinda dose act like a resesive type of thing but it is not perfect.

also here are 3 things to look for in the babies that will tell you if the eye color might stay. most of the RAPTORs / eclipse that i have hatched this year have 1 or more of these things going on

1 a white nose like the pic by my name
2 a blue spot on the head like in the picture below
3 it seams like they have piebald feet almost like socks. i havent seen it realy on the body but im going to hold back ones with better piebald on the legs and breed them to see if i can make it better.

here is a picture of a solid eyed Raptor and a snake eyed eclipse so you can see some of the things i just talked about.

im not saying that they have to have these things im just saying most of mine do. even my special sunglows with the cool eyes:D View attachment 6187

Just another "dookie brown". Those eyes aren't really red Jeremy... I know because my husband is color-blind and reds and browns look alike to him, too.

BTW, what AWESOME little dookies!

Matt, thanks for the tips. I am so glad you think you have it figured out. Me, personally, I'll bide my time and see what happens.

Like I said, I'm soooo glad that we understand all there is to know about these geckos. lol

Hmm, being color blind realy does stink.... I know all about it. I was wondering because you could see the slits in the eyes, but you could have told me the eyes were red and i would have beleived u. I wish there was some way to fix color blindness
