Red LED Light OK?

I picked up the following red LED light from home depot. I'm looking to use it for night time viewing, I have a UTH for heat. Are there any concerns with using an LED light?

Hmm... I thought that bugged them? I know for beardies they say NOT to use it. Didn't know it was different.

Nothing wrong with using low level LED with nocturnal geckos. I use it to provide a gentle night time light source for my Uroplatus, they do seem to hunt better with a very slight light source(red) to see by(think Moon light). With leos, it should be perfectly fine for night viewing.

Leopard geckos do not have a light sensitive parietal eye like a beardie. Also, beardies are diurnal and accustomed to sleeping at night when there is little or no direct light shining on them while leos are active during that period, light will disturb sleep much more than it will (typically) disturb periods of activity.

So is UV light ok for them? I heard it's really bad for humans, for their skin. I have a red light and a uv light. And it's ok for them, I'd love to set it up since I can't see beau at night

UV like a black light to make posters glow? Those can do severe damage to the eyes, they don't emit enough visible light to cause the pupil to constrict, allowing the retina to be hit with too much UV and causing damage with long-term exposure.

Yup that - the kind you used on your scorpions -That's what I figured. So I was right. The previous owner of Beau used them and I took them off right away.

But I'll be hooking up the red light
