"Red Runner" is another name for Blatta lateralis. I don't have any pics on my setup on here, but it's basically the same as any dubia setup. I have not found them to be any better at escaping than dubia, they're just faster moving so if you do drop one they're pretty difficult to catch. They are non-climbers/flightless. Basic setup for mine is an 18 gallon rubbermaid bin with a 8" x 4" section of screen in one end of the lid, a heat pad under one end, egg crates, and food and water crystal containers. I mist them daily(the egg cases need higher humidity to hatch) and feed dog food/veggies. They breed extremely well.

tnx for answer. How do u feed them to ur leopard gecko's. and do u feed only the males or the female's 2. And can i heat them with a heat lamp or is a heat pad needed

I just drop them in the tubs. I don't use a substrate in my tubs(just easier) so theres no where to hide. I would think a deli cup would work easily well as a feeding dish.

When I first set up a colony, I only fed off extra males until the colony had established itself enough(took about 4 monthes). I now have 3 lateralis colonies from that original one started with 2000 roaches. I feed a lot of subadult nymphs, I try and avoid feeding off adult females as they are the egg producers but I do occasionally.

Roaches need darkness. So a heat lamp isnt a great idea. I just use a regular human heat pad set on Medium to keep half the tub at around 90F.

oke there is only one problem i will have with a heat pad. and that is only the ground would be heated and higher in the tub it would be al little bit coulder. Ohh amd would a red Heat lamp work. Because i kno leo's can see the red heat lights in night zo mayby the roaches can't to.

Lateralis don't climb so theres no need to heat the upper parts of the tub. And heat rises, so it would warm the upper air as well anyways. I'm not sure roaches cant see red light, insects have different vision than other animals. You could try a heat lamp, but personally I've never used one and it would most likely dry the air more anyways, detracting from humidity.

I don't do anything special other than use a tall bin and leave about 6" of space between the top of the bin and the tops of the egg crates. They can't climb smooth surfaces. And using a lid is always a good idea, of course.
