Hi guys, would love to ask whether if I breed a pair of redstripe together, will the offspring be 100% redstripe? And do most of the redstripe turn brown when they touches adulthood. On the other hand, possible getting rainwater redstripe with a pure rainwater breed to a normal redstripe? Working on redstripe now and the information on them are extremely insufficient. Just bought 4 redstripes to start off my project!

Any kind advice will be much appreciated. Thanks

I'm not 100% sure what the stripe will do but as for your question about the albino - you will not get RRS (raining red stripe) the first generation unless your "normal red stripe" is het for rainwater albino as the albino is recessive. You will have to breed offspring to one another and keep your fingers crossed for one in the second generation.

If you aren't 100% sure about the backgrounds of the geckos you're breeding you may need to prove them to be tremper and bell albino free before crossing in the rainwater. People frown on crossing multiple albino strains and it will be exceedingly difficult to find homes for the offspring if you're unsure.

Red stripe x Red stripe will not always give you Red stripes. I have found that they do not have any one set way in which their genetic inheritance works. I think a Red stripe produced by 2 Red stripes tends to act more dominant and you get more Red stripes than if only one of the parents were a Red Stripe. As far as their color...it all depends on theline you get and the amount of effort put into refining the line. Get your animals from someone who has been working on them for a few years and you will have better luck with color retention. I have 2-3 year breeder girls who have awesome color and stripe still...so it is entirely possible to have Red Stripes stay vibrant and striped. That being said, every baby is different and good lineage is not a 100% sure thing the babies will stay that way throughout adult hood. When it comes to Raining Red Stripes...I have a little write up about our line of RRS - Acid Stripe (https://www.facebook.com/notes/enigmatic-reptiles/acid-stripe-project/427209334004505) this may help answer some of your questions.
