Hello Gecko enthusiasts!
I'm currently in the process of making a habitat for a pair of Tokays! Would love to get my hands on some crazy morphs, but seems they are still being bred for wider distribution. I grow coral for my main hobby, hoping to make Tokays my new one!

Have a 40B I plan on setting right side up and extending the back about 8inch to a foot using acrylic or wood to create more depth. Going to make a 3d background and have lighting light the sun going across from the front to back, dawn to dusk effect and a waterfall!
Anyway hopefully I get this thing started tomorrow and have photos! If any of you have special tips please lmk! I have been researching them for about 2 months now and its the habitat preparation stage!

First big question, would a small pool of water at the bottom of the terrarium, in any way, harm a Tokay?
I wouldn't think so, I would think that having water movement within the terrarium would encourage him to drink, but I am new to this and am just assuming :)

Also which subforum would I find everyone posting about Tokays?
I have searched, but none seem to be under the same subforum... haha

Welcome to the forums. As you no doubt discovered getting ahold of tokay morphs can be pretty difficult, there are few people breeding them and wcs are usually snatched up as soon as they go up for sale. That being said I do have a couple of breeder contacts. Check with morgan at homegrownscales, I believe she has double het powderblue/luecys and powderblues for sale at the moment.

Healthy tokays spend about 0 time on the ground so a small water pool won't bother them as long as it's kept clean. A warning on waterfalls though; in my opinion they are more trouble than they are worth, they create a haven for bacteria and are extremely difficult to keep clean. Creating a drip-wall or using a small submersible pump to pipe water up to a rock structure might be a better way to go if thats the look you are going for. Tony may have some links for you as he's into darts and the dendro keepers do quite a bit of water structure work usually.
