So I thought I'd try mealworms again as it seems my leos are getting tired of supers. And don't even suggest crickets. I hate those things.

Anyway, I've read that you can keep them in the fridge so that they don't pupate, but when do you gutload them? Do you gutload them first and THEN put them in the fridge? Or do you let them wake up and then gutload them a day or so before you feed them to your animal?

You can take them out of the fridge in the morning or afternoon... some even do it the day before and gutload them before feeding. Its recommended to do so in the 24 hour period before you give them to your gecko.

Frank said, "I did it my way"
but I don't think he raised meal worms.
Suggestion:My Way:....2 groups....(#1)feed from ones out and gut loaded.
(#2) Fridge ones.....Note, no moisture items with them, can cause problems.(carrots, potato, orange peel, etc.)
Remove them once a week, add gut loads 24 / 30 hours and either
remove moisture items and back to fridge................
or swap #2 to fridge. (removing moisture items first)
If you have your meal worms in grain? Check every so often to sift and replace as powdered looking stuff is "used up" and will moisture up also.

If doing wax worms..temp best is 50-- 60 ... usually need a separate bitty fridge as reg house used fridge is usually too cold.
Take care. HJ
