Registering as a business?

Has anyone hear opperating under a business name officially registered that name? If so, can you please shed some light on the process and the legal requirements of doing so? Thanks!

Jason, each city, county, and state have different requirements and guidelines for businesses. Your first step would be to contact your city offices or go online to find out what is required for a business license. Out here, we need a city business license and a resale permit (for the State Board of Equalization taxes). There are different requirements for internet businesses and those who raise animals for a living, but not much in regard to hobbyists who sell at a few reptile shows each year.
