Remember her?

This is the girl that went on hunger strike for about five months, had to get her tail amputated, and started eating again normally when she thought she had driven me crazy enough. Just an update on her for all the people in this forum that helped me.

She has grown a weird appendix on her regenerated tail, you can see it in the third pic.

Thanks Kyle!

Do you see the three pics? For some reason imageshack is not working properly for me (sometimes I see them and sometimes I can't).

Do you know what made her stop eating?

Oops, I missed this comment.

I don't know. We made blood tests, fecal tests, x-rays... And couldn't find anything unusual. She didn't had any symptoms either apart from not eating. We were going to make a MRI (the only test that was left...) but week before she started eating, and I decided that it was better not to stress her more.

I'm still curious about what happened, but she had a hard time those months between vet visits, force feeding, etc... That I thought it would be better to spare her another visit to the vet (maybe if it had been closer... but the hospital was about a 2h car trip from my house). As long as she keeps eating, it couldn't have been something so serious. I was starting to suspect a cancer or something similar.

Hi Sandra, my comrade ;), glad to see your female is getting all better now! For some reason, 2 of my females also do the same thing to me every year, stop eating for 4-5 months, lose many grams (15-20%) then suddenly one day, both will start eating for me, and gain back all those grams in no time. I had took them to the vet and did many tests too and never found anything unusual (vet once suspect pre-follicular stasis)...so, I guess some females are just like that...Good luck, I hope you don't need to go through that once every year like me....
