Do you really need to mix a 50/50 ratio of RepCal w/d3 and RepCal Herptivite?
Its not that im being lazy...but is it really necessary?

I use RepCal Calcium w/out VitD3 in the mealworms bowls at all times, and only use the RepCal Calcium w/D3 and RepCal vitamins weekly. I do use Calcium w/D3 at all times for egging females.

Marcia, what about gutloading? Do you feed your crickets and mealies with Pro gutload and then use all that supplements too? or if you are using gutload - there is no need in supplements?

So how many times do you mix this together in a week? Most places say the herptivite is used once a week, and the calcium w/D3 3 or 4 times...

use d3 the least, always leave a calcium dish in the tank(i leave the calcium w/o d3 in the tank). some people dust all the time some say just a dish is sufficient and some say too much dusting can be harmful so its really a matter of what you prefer and what you think is best for your gecko.

Where can you get calcium dust without D3? I've only seen it with at the local and chain pet stores around here... Is it really that bad? Wouldn't the makers of it be sure not to put too much of it in? Maybe I'm expecting too much from a corporation, lol.

My dusting schedule is 1/7 days is Herptivite 3/7 days is Calcium w/ D3 and 3/7 days is plain Calcium. Herptivite, Calcium w/ D3, and Calcium are in the tank at all times inside the mealie dishes. Should I change 1 or 2 days of Calcium and D3 to just plain Calcium?

Personally, I think using multiple products, mixing, and scheduling is too much a pain in the butt, and I get off track and forget who I fed what too.
I switched to calcium plus for that reason.
It's the only one I ever use.

I use JurassiCal for my calcium dish (It's just Calcium Carbonate, doesn't expire since there are no organic components) - It comes in a bottle with an ugly green top, easy to spot at the pet store.

I don't think there's anything inherently "wrong" with calcium+D3 - The concern as I understand it is over-supplementing with the D3, and maybe Marcia or someone else could speak to how much you should worry about that.
