So I've heard stories about repti-carpet that some leo's have gottin there toes stuck in the carpet and actually get ripped off as they struggle to break free, just wondering if this has actually happend to anyone before?

I've had my leo on repti-carpet since the day I brought it home-I haven't had any problems with stuck toes, but occasionaly crickets and mealies get snagged and I just reach in and give my gecko's mouth a little nudge with my finger to release it. As long as it's not like a really young gecko, who is still developing strong toes, you should be fine, IMO.

I stopped using repti carpet because every time Roxie would go in for the kill she would grab fibers along with the prey. I just figured it couldn't be any good for her. As far as toes go I haven't heard anything like that but I am one of those people that figure better safe than sorry. I have my girls on shelf liner from the dollar store with paper towels underneath. It seems to be great for them.

In my opinion, that stuff isnt good at all, and tile is only 1-3 bucks per sq ft. Just my opinion, use what works for you not what someone told you to.

my geckos would get their mouths and toes stuck when they were hunting so i switched to tile.
one time buy, lasts forever.
and its easier to keep clean.
but its your choice
just decide what you want for your geckos and what seems safest to you

I've never had any problems with it so it works for me. But that's up to you, you can either try it and see if there's any problems or just go with something else.

I haven't had any problems with it except for the occasional stuck tooth as they go to grab their prey, but that's easily remedied with a slight nudge. Generally my girls know pinch it right off the carpet without trouble.

Although I'm considering going to slate at some point. Just because I think it looks better. (And is probably easier to clean.)
