Repti-shelter humid hide

For those struggling with humid hide issues or don't want to clutter their setup with tupperware....I highly recommend the Zoo Med repti-shelter. I love these things and my leos like it even more than me! The medium size is good for leos, but if yours are over 80g the hole may be a bit small, so you'd need the large size, which takes up a lot of space. It is a great hide and it contains the moist substrate well so it doesn't make a mess. I like Bed a beast.

Great product.

I agree, a bit more expensive than a tupperware..lol but mine love them. However I ordered the large without reading the size specifications and it wont even fit in a ten gallon ITS HUGE!!!!!!!! (it fits.. but nothing else will)

I have a small one. When Winchester started having trouble squeezing into it, I broke one edge of the hole off with a hammer. It was surprisingly easy and now Winchester has no problems.

Good idea. I guess grinding out the hole with a small ball grinding stone on a drill would enlarge the opening just fine too. The medium size is nice but yes, the large is huge and only good for big setups. My 80g male barely squeezes through the hole so I may have to enlarge it soon. I don't want the hole too big because it will not hold the moisture as well then.

i found some great containers at the dollar store that i cut holes in lid and side and covered with electrical tape, put in some sphag. moss inside, already had 1 set of eggs in there, they both stay in them all the time in the humidity they love them.... but still can't beat wet paper towell under hot hide lol makes a little sauna, my last female shed within 10 mins of going in there hehe...

Does someone have a link to this?

Pet co has them for 21.99 but you can get them most anywhere. They are great! I put mine on the cool side because it was dripping with condensation when on the warm side....too wet for leos long term. Cool side or partial warm side is best placement. Bed a Beast is the best substrate for these. Get the medium, you'll love it and so will your leos.

Just do a web search on repti-shelter and you'll find them easily. Great unit.
