Reptiglo 10.0 dangerous YES OR NO?

I made search but this is not clear... Question is this dangerous for leo or not? Not is this needed, I know it's not.. But if in their hide they're safe, I guess it's ok?

Leo's don't need any UVB. I wouldn't waste the money getting them something they don't need. If you want to light the enclosure a regular household compact fluorescent will work. You can get hem in daylight which is 6500K.

I'm but spending money, I bought a viv and that bulb was inside.. I called many shops, sine known as most serious here, and surprisingly they said 10.0! For any desert animal... Wether they need it or not...

I would highly suggest not using a 10.0 UVB light on a nocturnal gecko.

Tell why then... During the day they stay in their hide, they might go out 5 minutes or so...

Because they are nocturnal and don't like the light.

Hem.. You're supposed to reproduce their natural habitat, which means hard sun. That reptiglo seems appropriate therefore.

Mankind was not made to be indoors all day. Are you going to replace all the bulbs in your home with UV bulbs? Are you going to setup the geckos natural habitat with substrates, rocks and plant life found where they are naturally from? Are you going to feed the gecko its natural diet, which mostly consist of scorpions? They do not eat mealworms, superworms and crickets in their natural habitat.

Unfortunately we cannot setup any pets natural habitat perfectly. We provide a much smaller space to entrap a species for our own pleasure. Yes, you can put UV on a leopard geckos cage, no they will not use it. They will stay hidden until the light goes out, just like their natural habitat. They will also be more skittish and less handable, just like their natural habitat. I have talked to many customers who have angry geckos, geckos that don't eat right and/or geckos that will not breed for them. A large % of the time they are using lights for heat.

This issue has been debated on this site and others over and over. Grab a cup of coffee, or a pot , and do a search on this website.
