How do you guys feel about these? Is it more sanitary just to use a regular water dish and change the water? I wasn't sure if it would be a good idea for the water in the reservoir to sit stagnant. :main_huh:

IMO you should not use those, because as you said the water will be sitting there constantly. Unless you change it frequently but I think it's just not worth it.

nah, im a fan of the simple water dishes tbh. and also theres alot of things that can be used as water dishes (like candle holders mentioned above) but not many things that can de used as a resevoir.

When your gecko poops in the water you will have to change the whole thing, and water changes should be done at least every other day at least anyways. Plain ol, every day water dishes (or whatever container you choose to use) is the way to go.

Personally, I love to use water reservoirs if I'm going to be out of town over the weekend or for a week, so I don't have to worry about my geckos water drying up. Many of the pre made reservoirs are very tall and I'm not sure if they would fit well in a rack system. Though you could always build your own for cheap. Your gecko wont poop in them as long as you already know where their defecatoria is and don't place your water dish in the same general area- keep it away from corners.
