Returning to geckos

Hi, i'd better introduce myself.

Back in in 2002 or so, I obtained my first leopard geckos. I enjoyed them a lot, but I a couple of years later, i had to move to Hawaii for work, and could not legally take them with me. I found a new home for them, but I soon discovered that we shared our Hawaiian home with House Geckos and Mourning Geckos. We occasionally saw day geckos (I'm not sure which species) and tokays, too. We enjoyed the geckos a lot, so we missed them when we returned to Utah.

I would like to keep geckos again, especially Mourning Geckos. I have kept a number of herps in the past. The only herps I currently keep are a couple of African frogs.

I keep a lot of aquariums. I breed various types of live food for fish, and I breed fish and propagate aquarium plants as well.

Welcome to the forum, have you ever looked into crested or leopard geckos? They're the most common geckos. There are also lots of arboreal gecko species similar to the ones in Hawaii if those are the ones you're interested in.

Thank you. I have kept leopard geckos and enjoyed them a lot. I have thought about crested geckos, too. I may eventually try those out as well. One of the reasons I enjoy Mourning geckos so much is their parthenogenetic reproduction...I find that fascinating. I can't rule out day geckos, either. They're so stunningly colored. There was a day gecko in a surf shop we used to visit in Hawaii, he would hang out by the light fixture on the wall nearly all the time...and with all at UVB available outside!
