Reverse stripe genetics

Just like with stripes, jungles, and abberants, the reverse stripe is polygenic. Typically it will either be there or it wont be, and it can be a nice clean solid stripe, or one that has a few breaks in it.

To figure out what you'll get out of the pairing, you would need to know the pattern details of the lineage of each animal.

For example, if your female RAPTOR doesn't have any jungle/stripe/reverse stripe in its lineage, then you're less likely to hatch out stripes.

But if your female RAPTOR does have those in its lineage, then you're more likely to see babies with similar patterns.

Either way, the male's reverse stripe should influence the offspring to some degree, giving some jungle-ly patterns, and maybe some striping/reverse striping going on.

Also, if you have a TRUE RAPTOR, and not just an Eclipse Tremper, then the stripe/reverse stripe gene SHOULD be in it, as those combos is what makes the RAPTOR patternless.

I have found that even 1 stripe parent can produce the whole range of stripe including aberrant, jungle, stripe, reverse stripe and patternless. I don't think anyone understands exactly what kind of stripe produces what, but based on my experience it does seem that anything in the stripe spectrum is possible with any kind of stripe.

Could you move to this Morphs & Genetics so it is easier to find later? I look back at these posts all the time when trying to figuring out genetics. Thanks. :)

Oh no, I'm sorry! I was asking a moderator to move it. Once we make a post they are the only ones that can move to them to another category. I wouldn't worry about putting it in the wrong area this time. We were all new and made mistakes. You know now where it is supposed to go next time. :)
