Right size mealworms for small leo

I have a small gecko that I got from a pet store 3.5 weeks ago. I have been buying the small mealworms because I read that you shouldn't feed insects that are bigger than the distance between the gecko's eyes. I bought some 'regular' size mealworms (Timberline) and they are at least 2x the eye distance. She eats them but I am wondering if they are too big. Should I not worry and keep feeding the bigger mealworms? Or go back to the small ones and just offer more?

thanx

I think the rule is wider than their head, not longer than their head.

My hatchlings all got regular sized meal worms and small supers when they just hatched.

He'll do fine on regular sized mealies.:D

I should get an image of a 8-10 gram gecko eating a super worm as big as the gecko :)

I start my hatchlings on medium mealworms and switch them over to supers and roaches as they get big enough to eat them.

There is no rule... These are predatory reptiles that do not choose their prey by size... They will pounce on any size prey item that crosses their path... If they can over-power it they, will eat it, if they cant, they will spit it out or let it go...

Leos will swallow insects larger than their heads without issue... They are built for the task... The chances of your leo choking to death is slim to none...

Like Paul, my leos start a diet of full grown supers at 10 grams...
